Bushnell Elite 6500 - Rifle Scopes
The Elite 6500 series riflescopes are Bushnell’s top end scopes and they feature wide magnification ranges such as 2.5-16x, and 4-30x which makes them versatile hunting optics. While the series is relatively small when compared to some other hunting scope lines; the three configurations 2.5-10x42, 2.5-10x50, and 4.5-30x50 in the Bushnell Elite 6500 line can cover just about any type of hunting or shooting situation a person is likely to find themselves in.
Models
Bushnell Elite 4.5-30x50 – The big dog of this scope line, the 4.5-30x50 is still only 13.5” long which is quite compact for a scope with a magnification range all the way up to 30x. However, as the picture in the chart shows when its 5” sun shade is attached the length is then 18.5”. This scope makes windage and elevation corrections in 1/4 MOA, and weighs in at 21 oz without its sunshade attached. The 4.5-30x50 can be had with a fine Mulit X reticle, a Mildot reticle, or a DOA 600 reticle which can also be used to estimate the range of whitetail or mule deer out to 600 yards.
Bushnell Elite 2.5-16x50 – At 13.5 inches long and weighing in at 21oz it appears that the Bushnell 6500 Elite 2.5-16x50 scope models are built on the same frame as the higher magnification 4.5-30x50 models. However, because of the magnification difference the field of view on the 2.5-16x50 model is greater showing 42’ at 100 yards when on its lowest power setting. Oddly enough, the DOA 600 reticle is not an option on this model but is on the 4.5-30x50 version; the DOA 600 reticle is a deer hunting reticle and would seem more suited for the 2.5-16x50. Regardless, this scope can still be had with a Multi-X (duplex) or mildot style reticle.
Bushnell Elite 2.5-16x42– While still the same length as the previously mentioned models, the 2.5-16x42 version is nearly four ounces lighter due to its smaller 42mm objective. These scopes come with all three reticle options, the Mil-dot, Fine Multi X, or DOA 600, and like all the models in this series makes adjustments in 1/4 MOA increments. Field of view on this scope is essentially the same as the 50mm version and like the other scopes in this Bushnell line features a matte black finish.
