Conclusion
Many manufactures offer a budget line of scopes which basically consist of a 3-9x40mm model with a duplex reticle and black matte finish. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as those scopes often offer a lot of optic for the money; however, if you want a different reticle, finish, or magnification option you are out of luck. Also, most scope lines (budget or not) cater almost exclusively to the centerfire rifle market, again leaving many hunters that use a different style of firearm without options. The Bushnell XLT scopes series does a good job of offering something for everybody with numerous configurations, reticles, and finishes that can be used on a wide variety of different firearms.
