Nightforce NXS

The Nightforce NXS has become one of the most popular options among long range shooters. It has gained a reputation for tracking accurately and being able to with stand the recoil of even the most vicious of long range thumpers. Currently the NXS series is available in the following configurations: 3.5-15x50, 5.5-22x50, 5.5-22x56, and 8-32x56. 

Features
Illumination

Illumination comes standard with NXS scopes and is activated by pulling the side focus parallax adjustment knob outward. There is only one intensity setting while in use; however, the intensity level of the illumination can be manually adjusted by removing the end of the side focus knob, removing the battery, and then turning the brightness level up or down.

Second Focal Plane
All NXS configurations now come with a second focal plane reticle with the first focal plane model that used to be available in the 3-15x50 model now apparently discontinued.

Reticles
Nightforce has a wide variety of both standard and specialty reticles available on the NXS scopes. Furthermore, there are a wide variety of matched reticle/turret setups both Mil/Mil and MOA/MOA as well as some mismatched combinations like a Mil-Dot reticle with .25 MOA adjustments. So not matter what you style you favor there are plenty of options.  

Zero Stop
Many scopes in the NXS line are available with a zero stop feature which allows the shooter to quickly rotate the elevation turret to the sighted in zero setting without over rotating the knob. This zero stop feature not only allows the shooter to quickly get the optic back to the “0” setting, but also allows the shooter to do so without looking at the turrets which comes in especially handy in very low light conditions when the markings cannot easily be seen.

30mm Main Tubes
All models in the NXS series are built on a 30mm main tube, which allows for plenty of windage and elevations adjustments. For example, the 5.5-22x versions of this line offer 100 MOA of elevation adjustment and 60 MOA of windage.

Selection

With such a vast assortment of available configurations picking out a NXS scope can be a challenge so we have put together what options are available along with important specifcations and model numbers to help you with your search.  Also, keep in mind that all NXS models have the reticle in the second focal plane. Here are some steps you may want to follow when selecting your NXS scope.
